We had an amazing visit with dozens of second graders. They had a chance to color and learn about plankton. It was creativity and discovery in-action. A diversity of coloring styles, interesting questions and best of all—drawings of zoea. I love being a science communicator and creating products that inspire me with the hope that it will connect others to the beauty and wonder I see in nature through the lens of science and art. It is always deeply rewarding to have opportunities to interact with people directly as well. Going into this school and seeing firsthand how contagious our passion and enthusiasm is for plankton was fantastic. I hope this project inspires you as both a scientist and artist, too!
